About Me

Hi there! My name is Stephenie. I am a daughter, a sister, a perpetual student… and much more! I was born in White Plains, New York. However, I have been a resident of the South for over 15 years of my life now. I am a product of two refugee parents, whose resiliency and work ethic has been instilled in every bone of my body. I have one older sister, a best friend since birth. Family is my everything.

I am a proud Double Dawg from the University of Georgia. I received my Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising in May 2011. I went back for my Master of Public Administration, which I completed in May 2015. Although the world of advertising was fast paced and exciting, I knew I wanted to do more to help others. After serving a one-year term with AmeriCorps, I had found my true calling in public service. My interests lie in combining my undergraduate passion for advertising with my graduate studies in disaster services and emergency preparedness.

Like many twenty-something year olds out there, I am still looking for some steady ground. Life is constantly changing and throwing curve balls. It’s exciting, scary, and full of opportunities. I have gained so much knowledge just in my short 26 years of life and I hope to gain much, much more!
